Hi.

How to edit a file df2?

I have seen here a link to the editor. Link does not work.

I want to change portraits of units.

Thank you. Have a nice day.

FaceTool - the tool to change the portraits of heroes. See Downloads.

For unit (e.g. Naga, Zombie); not for the heroes.

you can try rename naga's portrait to hero's and then edit it with FaceTool

Accolon - but how? I open file in notepad. Copy the text between the words "Naga" and "Nightmare", in place between "Sandro" and "Sark". Facetool not work. It can not therefore copy the entire line. So "How copy"?

In notepad? No. You must:

1. Find the program to unpack and pack resources for h4r-archives.
2. Find df2-file (in h4r-archives), associated with naga portraits and extract it from h4r-files.
3. Rename it for one hero portraits.
4. Packed renamed naga-portraits to mod.h4r (new_mod.h4r file).
5. Only this step you can edit "hero" (naga) portrait with FaceTool (hero portrait has become a naga).
6. Then rename new portrait to naga's portrait proper name and pack it to h4r-archive.

They draw nothing, but simply took already existing ability, replacing the corresponding line in the code of .exe file. They really put in the game pictures for the magic, but EquiTeam does not show the way. It would be nice if Team described the archive file with stored animation, or specified the format of storing animation, but I really doubt they will say about it.
